2021/08/23

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Walton has announced the addition to its more than 3,000-acre Colorado portfolio with the acquisition of a 206-acre property intended for residential development named Peakview located in the City of Evans. The property is located between 37th Street and 65th Avenue.

Walton purchased the land parcel from an international investment group and shortly received an exit-focused letter of intent from a home builder on the Top 100 Builder List. The home builder is planning to build single-family homes on the approximately 665 residential lots and a multi-family development.

Walton’s Executive Vice President, Barry Dluzen, said, “The Northern Colorado area continues to show significant signs of growth, so we are actively searching for land parcels to contribute to the ongoing demand for homes” He added, “When completed, this development will be a nice addition to the City of Evans. We look forward to working with the City and the home builder to bring new home inventory to this great location.”

The property’s location in Weld County begins with its northern boundary at 37 Street, and east and west boundaries at 66 Avenue and 77 Avenue. It is just a five-minute drive to downtown Greely, 10 miles from Interstate 25, 16 miles from downtown Loveland, and a 35-mile visit to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins.  It is also only a 60-mile trip to Denver International Airport and downtown Denver.

Known as the “Queen City of the Platte,” residents of Evans enjoy a great school system in addition to all the shopping and amenities of a large town.  Boasting over 300-days of sunshine and four full seasons, locals enjoy the outdoors with over 300 acres of parks featuring several hiking and biking trails along the South Platte River.

The Peakview land acquisition continues to grow Walton’s portfolio of owned or administered land across the United States, providing a scalable land acquisition platform to support homebuilders with just-in-time inventory.
