A potential for approximately 800 new homes will be built in the city of Webster
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company with US$3.6 billion under management, has purchased 171 acres of land in the city of Webster in Sumter County, Florida planned for residential development. The property, called Hamilton is located off Highway 48 east of Highway County 471 and an approximate 15 min drive south of The Villages, a popular adult retirement community,
“The Hamilton property is located in an emerging area that is expecting substantial residential and retail growth in the coming years,” said Mike Doherty, senior vice president of land. “The population outside of The Villages skews toward a younger demographic, indicating a large presence of family formation which is fueling a strong demand for housing.”
The property will be zoned for residential development and has the potential of bringing approximately 800 new single-family homes to the city of Webster.
Situated between the main thoroughfares of Interstate 75 to the west and Florida’s Turnpike to the east gives the Hamilton master plan access to the major cities of Tampa and Orlando. The location of Hamilton, as a southern bedroom community to The Villages, is primed for commuters looking for attractively priced single-family homes and easy access to employment hubs.
“Our builder partners have a high interest in this area mainly due to its appeal to first-time homebuyers,” added David Peter, executive vice president of special projects. “As Walton continues to scale our land holdings in Florida, this is the property we look for along with the builders we work with who are looking to develop appealing communities.”
The Walton Global land acquisition strategy is focused on real estate markets that have a demand for new residential communities. The demographics and growth projections of Webster make the Hamilton property a strong addition to Walton’s existing portfolio of more than 6,500 acres in the state of Florida.
