WALTON GROUP BULKS UP IN PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY

2017/12/19

The Walton Group of Companies has been quietly expanding in the Washington D.C. area and is now readying lots for development. It has completed purchases on three properties located in Prince George’s County within the last six months.

In total, the private land investment and development group has added more than 230 acres to its Washington D.C. real estate portfolio, bringing its total land assets in the region to over 6,000 acres.

These latest strategic acquisitions, known as Kenwood Village, Potomac Landing and Smith Lakes, are part of the company’s long-term goal to support the area’s demand for high-quality housing, according to the company, which is currently delivering lots to three home builders (Mid-Atlantic Builders, Haverford Homes and Ryan Homes) in its Westphalia Town Center and Canter Creek developments in Prince George’s County.

“Prince George’s County is certainly one of the nation’s most active housing markets right now, and we are seeing a continued increase in demand. The builders are all on, or ahead of, schedule with their lot purchases,” said Edward R. Fleming, president of Walton Development and Management East Region.

“Prince George’s County’s robust job market and its tight inventory of high-quality housing present a tremendous opportunity for Walton,” said Fleming. “We have developed very good working relationship with some of the most active builders in the D.C. metro area, and so our latest land acquisitions in the area is just a natural progression in the growth of our company.”
