SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company, has sold 80 acres in Prince George’s County, Maryland to D.R. Horton, the country’s largest home builder by volume, for a master plan community known as Spring Hills.

This transaction is the first phase of residential development for the Dobson Ridge Master Plan totaling 822 acres. Forestar, who will be developing the lots for D.R. Horton, has received approval for a subdivision of 196 lots. The overall Master Plan is slated for a variety of residential unit types, as well as a mix of employment and retail uses. Residential units are planned to present a wide range of offerings including single-family detached dwellings, single-family attached dwellings, and multifamily product. Non-residential uses are anticipated to include various retail, commercial office, and civic uses.

“This has been a highly anticipated initial phase of Spring Hills and we are always happy to see progress and move forward with D.R. Horton,” said David Peter, executive vice president special projects at Walton Global. “This master plan is our first development with D.R. Horton in Maryland, and we are pleased to contribute to the continued growth within the area, as well as support this flourishing community.”

Located just outside of Washington, D.C., this upcoming development will offer exposure to Route 5 and Highway 301 providing quick access to the Capital Beltway and the city of Baltimore.

“We are excited to get this first phase of Spring Hills underway and to continue growing our relationship with Walton Global”, said Dwyane Hill, D.R. Horton’s capital division president.

Walton Global continues to pursue development in the areas surrounding Washington, D.C., administering land investment projects and supporting the increasing population and growth. Nearby properties include the Westphalia Town Center, Kenwood Village, Canter Creek, Smith Lake Estates and Saddle Creek, in which Walton Global has been instrumental in cultivating commercial, industrial and residential uses to the greater Maryland region.
