Walton Global Adds 152 Acres of Land to its Texas Portfolio

2022/07/29

The property is planned for new home development and a new women’s advocacy center in the San Antonio-New Braunfels MSA

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company with US$3.6 billion under management, has acquired 152 acres of land in the city of Seguin in Guadalupe County, part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. The property, called Seguin Chambers, is zoned for residential development and anticipated to bring new homes to the area. Of the newly purchased acres, 2.5 acres of land will be donated to create a women’s advocacy center.

“This property will add to the growing demand in the San Antonio MSA, bringing much-needed homes to the seventh largest population in the United States,” said Brad Wiley, Senior Land Acquisition Manager for Texas and Arizona of Walton Global. “Homebuilders are showing a high interest in this particular area primarily due to strong job opportunities and access to great amenities and schools.”

This location in the city of Seguin is ideally located near some of the largest employers in the area including Caterpillar, which is located just 3 minutes north of the Seguin Chamber land, and Vitesco Technologies. The city also attracts commuters because of its proximity to thoroughfares—Interstate 35, Interstate 10 and Highway 130—that connect to San Antonio and Austin.

The property is 38 miles from the San Antonio International Airport and approximately 53 minutes to downtown San Antonio. It is located within the Seguin Independent School District with Rodriguez Elementary School and A.J. Briesemeister Middle School. There also are other single-family communities in the area from homebuilders such as Lennar, D.R. Horton, Centrex and M/I Homes.

The characteristics that make the land a prime location for new residential homes also makes it a prime location for a women’s advocacy center. As part of the acquisition process, Walton has been working with the sellers, Billy and Diane Chambers, to fulfill the development of a new women’s advocacy center that is planned for development on 2.5 acres of reserved land.

Brad Wiley added: “Walton considers it a priority to continue with the prior landowners plans to donate land for this extremely important cause to support women in the surrounding community with this advocacy center. We will have more details on the center in the coming months.”

Seguin Chambers is located close to Seguin Ranch, a 166-acre property previously acquired by Walton. It’s part of Walton Global’s acquisition strategy to target areas that have a demand for new homes and San Antonio continues to meet the criteria.

Corbin Barker and Will Kempf from Endura Advisory Group were the land brokers on the deal.
