WALTON DEVELOPMENT MAPS OUT PHASE 2 AT D.C.-AREA MP

2018/10/16

Walton Development and Management is nearing a sell-out on its initial phase and has initiated the next stage of construction on Canter Creek, a master-planned community in Upper Marlboro in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Walton contracted with NVR Inc. and Mid-Atlantic Builders for the purchase of the 106 single-family home sites in Phase 1. With less than 5% of inventory left in Phase 1, Walton is preparing to continue with the development of Phase 2 of the community. The homes in the next phase are expected to range from 1,600 to 3,000 SF, priced from $395,000. Upon completion of the four phases, the community will have 410 single-family homes.

“Upper Marlboro has become one of the nation’s best places to live with high tech employment concentration and premium public transportation system across the County,” says Edward R. Fleming, executive vp of Walton Global Holdings, Ltd. “Our home builder partner is anxious to take down the remaining 304 lots in Phases 2 through 4, and we are very excited to kick start development for the initial 60 lots in December for a scheduled completion in Spring 2019.”

Canter Creek will include a daycare facility, a community park, environmental reserves, and walking trails. It is in close proximity to the National Harbor, MGM Resort Casino, Branch Avenue Metro Station and downtown Washington D.C. – all within a 25-minute drive away from the property.

The other active development managed by Walton in Prince George’s County Maryland is Westphalia Town Center, a 310-acre mixed-use master-planned community of residential, retail, and office space, located 5 miles north of Canter Creek.
