Walton Closes on 246 acres within Monte Verde in Buckeye, Ariz.

Corporate Release: Walton is pleased to announce the closing of 246 acres within the Monte Verde Community Master Plan in the City of Buckeye, Ariz. in Maricopa County. The transaction was approved by the Walton-managed Roll-up Corporation (RUC) earlier this month.

In addition to Monte Verde, RUC owns approximately 4,700 acres throughout Pinal County, Arizona. RUC was formed through the amalgamation of 134 Canadian pre-development land entities with more than 27,000 shareholders. The corporation collectively owns an interest of more than 21,000 acres of pre-development land in key growth markets through the United States and Canada. Shareholders in RUC are anticipated to receive distributions from this closing in Q1 2022.

Justin Carlson of JR Carlson Company, LLC and James Hotis of The Hogan Group represented the buyer who is the owner of a private investment company.

We have a long-standing collaborative relationship with the City of Buckeye and look forward to advancing entitlement approvals on our remaining land within Monte Verde, ” said Jen Ruby, Senior Vice President of Land for Walton.

The property is planned for a variety of uses including residential, commercial, and public facilities. John S. McCain III Elementary was recently built within the Monte Verde master plan on land donated by Walton; the school celebrated their grand opening in August 2021.

Monte Verde is located west of Phoenix and has direct access to Interstate 10, a major arterial highway leading to California.
