Neil Narfason is the Chairman of Walton’s Board of Advisors as of July 2024. He is also a Senior Advisor to Ernst & Young Canada, where he previously held the title of Partner for nearly 20 years. From April 2020 to June 2024, he was the leader of EY Canada’s turnaround and restructuring services group. From January 2019 to April 2020, Narfason served as the CFO of the Walton Group of Companies, providing deal advisory, financial, and capital advice on operations in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Narfason has acted as Court-Appointed Monitor Court-Appointed Receiver and Manager, Trustee, or Proposal Trustee of many companies, many of which were international in scope. He is a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, Honorary Consul for Iceland – Calgary, a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, a Chartered Business Valuator, and a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Wayne Souza has 49 years of private practice and in-house General Counsel legal experience. He previously served as U.S. General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Law for the Walton Group of Companies, leading legal and governmental affairs for the U.S. and U.S.-related legal affairs in Hamburg, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Souza served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives, is a former founder and Chair of the IPA’s Private Placement Securities Committee, and a former co-founder and Vice-Chair of its Policy Advocacy Committee. He also received the Association’s National Award of Distinction for outstanding service and visionary leadership in the Direct Investments Securities Industry. He continues to be an active member of the Virginia State Bar.

He is also the co-owner and CEO of Conte’s Bike Shop®, a 21-store multi-state retail chain with 210+/- employees in 7 states, as well as the co-founder and Vice-Chair of the Bicycle Industry Employers Association and the founder and current operator of Aloft Aviation, LLC.

Throughout his professional career, Wayne represented the NY Mets, Executive Sports, several minor league teams, and professional athletes in baseball, football, basketball, international track and field, and golf. He negotiated international endorsement contracts with Nike, Mizuno, Reebok, Fila, Champion, Oakley, Ray Ban and Marriott.

Mike Doherty has been with Walton Global since 1991. He spent 16 years under Walton’s charitable arm. He spent 2 years working out of Asia, 4 years in the U.S., and 27 out of

Canada. He holds a business degree from the University of Gonzaga and a second degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Siobhan Doherty was the first employee of Walton Global in 1982 before leaving to further her education, returning to the company and remaining since 1991. Throughout her tenure, she has overseen various entities under the Walton umbrella. She also holds her Broker’s License in Canada, previously working with mortgage companies across North America. She has sat on a multitude of Non-Profit Boards, including Our Lady Queen of Peace, the Greater Washington Community Foundation, and Fountain Hills Community Foundation. She received her Board of Directors Certificate from Haskayne Business School in Calgary.

As Chief Executive Officer at Walton Global, William (Bill) Doherty has been central to the company’s strategic direction over the past two decades. His pioneering guidance has propelled the expansion of Walton’s investment activities, launching the company’s U.S., Asia and Europe operations. Under his leadership, Walton has become a leading North American real estate investment, asset management and development group.

Mr. Doherty oversees the company’s continued involvement in land use planning and development and is deeply involved in forging Walton’s alliances with leading international investment banks, broker-dealers, financial advisors and institutional investors

Narayanan Sambasivan (Sam) is an experienced risk and compliance professional with over 20 years of experience. His specialties include risk and compliance coverage for funds, transactional services, company and trust management services, and banking across 40 countries including 17 regulated markets. He was the Global Head of Risk and Compliance at Amicorp Group for 9 years, which has multiple offices around the world. Prior to that he was Vice President and Head of Legal & Compliance at Credit Suisse. He was instrumental in setting up the Center of Excellence for Credit Suisse across India, Poland, Singapore, and the US for legal & compliance services. These units supported Investment banking, Private Banking and Asset Management business. Prior to that, he worked at HSBC and the Government of India on risk and enforcement matters.

Narayanan is a solution-focused legal and compliance professional with expertise in fraud investigations, regulatory compliance, cross border transactions, enterprise risk management and internal frameworks. He has dealt with global regulators including the SEC, FCA (UK), MAS (Singapore), FINMA (Switzerland), CIMA (Cayman), DFSA (Dubai), FSRA (Abu Dhabi) and Cysec (Cyprus), and others.

Over the past 6 years in UAE, he has established the regulatory practice for Amicorp in the region by working closely with DIFC and ADGM authorities. He has also advised and collaborated with Dubai Chambers to provide more exposure to the Latin American markets in Brazil, Peru, Panama, and Chile. At Thiyyasam he advises family offices, corporate, and UHNW individuals on global expansion, strategic investments, and corporate and private restructuring. His clientele is spread across APA C, EMEA & Americas. Narayanan also sits on the advisory board of multiple firms overseeing their risk & compliance framework

Cedar Investment Management was founded by Choy-Soon Chua in 2018 who has over 25 years of global real estate investment experience across all major real estate classes. Choy-Soon started his real estate career in San Francisco, CA in 1995 with the highly respected sovereign wealth fund GIC Real Estate and further developed his expertise in Frankfurt, Germany and London, UK covering the European markets.

He then moved on to become the Chief Investment Officer of SEB Asset Management in Frankfurt, Germany, responsible for its global real estate allocation and investment of more than US $12 billion, including spearheading the group’s investments into Asia from 2006 onwards on behalf of institutional investors.

Prior to founding Cedar, Choy-Soon helped Wing Tai Holdings, a reputable real estate developer listed on the Singapore Exchange, to create and develop its real estate investment platform in launching their successful maiden overseas investments in Australia with two data centers in 2017.

Choy-Soon holds a Dipl. Ing. from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and speaks English, German and Mandarin.
