ROSEWELL FIRM EYES MASSIVE INDUSTRIAL PARK DEVELOPMENT AT FULTON INDUSTRIAL

2017/01/04

A firm known for assembling enormous parcels of land has now targeted the Fulton industrial market for what could become the area’s next mega-warehouse complex.

Walton Development and Management — a division of The Walton Group — is attempting to entitle more than 310 acres bounded by Fulton Industrial Boulevard to the north, Riverside Drive to the east and Campbellton Road to the south into what could be 2.2M SF of warehouses in six buildings.

The Roswell firm filed a development of regional impact request with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for approval, and also is seeking to get a green light to add 226k SF of apartments, nearly 170k SF of retail and 108k SF of offices.

Walton’s Frederic Shmurak said the firm may not ultimately develop the project, currently called Woodbury Park E-Commerce & Distribution Center.

“Walton will either develop the parcel, joint venture with others to develop, or sell to others, depending on market conditions,” Shmurak said in an email. That’s been a strategy Walton has taken with its massive Gwinnett County project as well.
