John S. McCain III Elementary School Opens to Students

Corporate Release – Walton is pleased to announce the opening of John S. McCain III Elementary School located in one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, Buckeye, Arizona on August 4, 2021.  The school located near 247th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, was built on donated land provided by Walton called Monte Verde and dedicated to the late Senator of Arizona, John McCain.

“Walton is honored to be a part of this important project,” said Kate Kaminski, Chief Operating Officer of Walton. “We have a true appreciation for the value of education and providing young children with the necessary resources to support their future, and a great respect for this dedication to the late Senator John McCain.”   
 
On July 27, 2021, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held that Walton participated in with special guest and speaker, Cindy McCain. A tour was conducted by Assistant Superintendent Davis who showcased the state-of-the-art school and featured the different learning concept. The school includes 20 classrooms with collaborative, open spaces with movable walls and a focus on a C-Stem program (Coding, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Other school highlights include robotics, a Z-Space virtual learning lab, a commercial grade kitchen and much more. According to the District, the facility is designed to help students use critical thinking, social skills and to learn humanities and history.   
 
“Working with Assistant Superintendent Davis and the exceptional Chasse project team has been a great experience, and it is thrilling to see this school take shape,” said Jen Ruby, Senior Vice President, Land for Arizona and Colorado. “The City of Buckeye is a wonderful community and Walton is proud to support this phenomenal new school in the Senator’s honor.” 
 
John McCain III Elementary School was designed by Orcutt Winslow, and construction was completed by the Chasse Building team.
