SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Walton, a leading land asset management and global real estate investment company, has completed a 44-acre land sale with D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder by volume in the U.S., in Georgia’s desirable Madison Lakes.
Madison Lakes, a master-planned community in the city of Madison, sits approximately two miles south of Interstate 20 and provides direct access for a quick one-hour drive to downtown Atlanta and the rest of the metro Atlanta area.
The master plan is a zoned Planned Unit Development (PUD) that allows for 1,258 single-family homes as part of the existing active adult community. Much of the master plan is undeveloped land, however, the developed portion of Madison Lakes contains 213 lots, open space, ponds, and recreational amenities including a clubhouse, swimming pool, playground, and tennis courts.
“It is very exciting to have D.R. Horton entering the Madison Lakes community,” said Anthony Sparrow, Asset Manager for Walton. “It will provide much needed housing inventory in a market that has seen recent growth and a high housing demand. In addition, Horton’s variety of housing products will be a great fit for the community.”
D.R. Horton’s purchase of the acreage equaling 65 lots will be completed in two phases – 40 of the lots have closed in September 2021 and the remainder 25 lots are expected to close in March 2022.
Walton currently has over 11,000 acres under management in the metro Atlanta market and is excited to have D.R. Horton entering the charming town nestled in Morgan County. Madison is a history buff’s dream, full of museums and authentic, immaculately preserved historical sites.
