WALTON BUYS 464 ACRES IN GROWING SPARTANBURG COUNTY

Walton Group of Companies entered the South Carolina Upstate market in Spartanburg County with the acquisition of 464.62 acres of land.

Walton anticipates a mixed use plan for the Property comprising of 860 single-family units, 300 multi-family units, and 22 acres for commercial use. The property will include amenities such as recreation areas, parks and open space. Walton will be working with the City of Spartanburg and Spartanburg County to move the project forward.

The property is surrounded by top employers, amenities, and enjoys convenient access across the region. It is located 5-minute drive away from City of Spartanburg and 20-minute drive from Greenville.

The property, Southport Village, lies in close proximity to top employers in the area, including BMW Manufacturing Co., Michelin, Siemens, Kohler and more – all 15-minute drive away from the property. With the support of a business-friendly environment and state and local tax incentives, the Upstate is expected to continually receive influx of capital investment, especially at the largest BMW plant in the world. The property is situated at the conjunction of Interstate 85 and Interstate 26.
